Sand Spears also known as a Spear Pumps are installed along the coastline.
A spear pump draws water from the ocean beneath the ground surface through wet sand, the wet sand acts as a filter reducing the salt content in the water and allows the water to be used in domestic purposes such as lawns and gardens.
Note. In most spear pump applications you will endure iron content in the water.
There are ways of treating iron content in the water to stop staining of driveways, colorbond fences and so forth.
